Free Help Desk Software:  osTicket

This is a video demo of osTicket, which is a free help desk software.

I was able to install this software myself, unlike the installation for Hesk (see Hesk video) for which I paid the company.

This software is a bit more complex than Hesk, and it only has a forum for support. I had a couple of problems…the customers were not receiving emails when they submitted the ticket and when the ticket was answered. They need the ticket number to view the ticket (unlike Hesk), so this is a big problem. I didn’t follow through but am sure that it would be a fairly easy fix. The second problem is that I couldn’t figure out how to create a canned responses.
