A great way to establish yourself as an expert, make it easier to get media appearances, and grab the attention of your best prospects is to write a book. Self-publishing doesn’t have the stigma it used to…you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars on books that will just sit in your garage. In fact, it is very easy to write your own book very quickly. John has explained several times how to write a book in 14 days.
But, once you have created a manuscript, you have to bridge the gap between ebook formatting and that for published books. I have supplied you with a Template to use (download below the video) and in the video I show you what has to be changed to go from ebook to physical book:
- Different fonts
- Different margins
- Header and footer modifications
- How to automatically create a table of contents
- How to create a PDF
Probably the most confusing aspect is the header and footer modifications…
- some pages are blank,
- some have a footer but no header,
- the header on the right side may be different from the one on the left side,
- the header on the right side may change with the chapter while the header on the left side stays the same throughout the book (except in the front matter and the back matter!),
- the page number format is different between the front matter and the rest of the book (except possibly the back matter)…
…but, it is that “interior design” that separates the books that are obviously self published from those that look more professional…
